About ECAN

Europe is struggling with a number of crises, including the care crisis, the climate crisis, the housing crisis, the energy crisis, the growing democratic deficit, the ageing demographics, the non-democratic goverments in some member states, and some social, political and economic tensions as a result.

We need a new vision and a new approach to address all these problems on community levels as well as on political and EU levels. ECAN was innitiated to take part in this process and to offer organisations and individualst the space to cooperate, to co-create and to realize this new vision.

The European Conscious Ageing Network has been initiated by Hekate Conscious Ageing Foundation (NL) and Janoshida Municipality (HU) in 2023, as a result of the strategic cooperation (J2030) between the two organisations started in 2020. HCAF and JM decided that it is necessary to be able to welcome, include and embrace those initiatives, organisations, NGOs, experts etc. who expressed their wish to join this Conscious Ageing ecosystem. P-AGE Conscious Ageing Programme (in Pécs, Hungary) has soon joined the network and also SignCoders in 2023.

Our vision is to hold space for cooperation and co-creation for those, who are willing to build a new, more resilient and more careing European family of nations, cultures, communities.
